Cindy Hoffman - CEO
Cindy Hoffman has more than 25 years experience in the communications industry. Building on a career as a television news reporter, writer, and producer, she expanded her expertise to include executive coaching, media and presentation training, and issues and crisis management. For the past two decades she has worked with pharmaceutical companies, bio-tech firms, hospitals and healthcare systems, public relations agencies, non-profits and advocacy groups to develop and deliver “messages that matter” to a wide variety of audiences.
Ms. Hoffman has earned a reputation as an expert in crafting messages, strategies and responses, particularly in the health care arena. Specialties include health care reform, clinical trials, cardiology, rheumatology, women's health, oncology, dermatology, genetic engineering, medical ethics, medical education, and FDA approvals. She is skilled at helping senior executives and thoughtleaders translate complicated medical jargon in to ”lay” language. She also has significant experience working with advocacy groups, as well as training athletes and entertainers to serve as spokespeople for a variety of products and causes.
Cindy Hoffman’s decade of TV news experience includes three years at CNN, producing two hours of daily, live news broadcasts. She also held producing and writing positions at major TV stations in the northeast and produced and reported business features for the syndicated television program, The Bottom Line. Her experience as a media insider is matched by her expertise as a media outsider and public relations professional. As Director of Media Relations for Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, she was responsible for all external communications related to its research institution, its 710-bed teaching hospital and affiliates, and for Jefferson Medical College, the nation’s largest private medical school.
An honors graduate with a degree in Theatre from Brandeis University, Cindy Hoffman also attended the masters program in organizational development at the University of Pennsylvania.
Judy Seraphine - President
Judy Seraphine has 20 years of experience in the medical education and communications sector working with both non-profit organizations and for-profit medical communications companies. Ms. Seraphine’s key reputable assets include developing and overseeing medical education programs for various pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in a wide array of therapeutic areas. Her experience includes new business development, specifically, leading overall sales strategies and the sales processes along with providing unique solutions to clients’ needs. Ms. Seraphine also has significant experience in publication planning and editorial processes. She has written and edited brochure copy, newsletters and journals as well as developing and overseeing publication plans. Ms. Seraphine has a strong background in marketing and communications including marketing plans, key opinion leader development and relationships and faculty procurement. Throughout her career, Ms. Seraphine has launched various successful educational websites in many therapeutic areas. Therapeutic specialties include Rheumatology, Dermatology, HIV/Infectious Disease and female health care.
Judy earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Towson University and her Master of Science Degree from the University of Maryland University College.
Martin Bergman, MD - Medical Director
Dr. Martin Bergman is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, and Chief of the Division of Rheumatology at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, PA. Dr. Bergman is a Board Certified rheumatologist and internist with a full-time clinical rheumatology practice. He is a past President of the Philadelphia Rheumatism Society and the Delaware County Medical Society.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Bergman serves as a medical meeting facilitator and speaks nationally and internationally on a wide range of issues including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, the management of non-malignant pain, outcomes measures, disease management, reimbursement, and other economic issues facing physicians. He has a keen understanding of the clinical trial process and has participated in multiple clinical trials involving biologics and coxibs.
Dr. Bergman's current research interests are focused primarily on the use of patient self-reported outcomes tools, recognizing both the importance of quantitative measurement in the management of rheumatologic diseases, particularly rheumatoid arthritis, and the ability of the patient to know how much his or her disease is affecting the individual, sometimes (or even, usually) better than the physician. The results of these works have been published in major national and international journals and have been presented at both the ACR annual scientific meetings and at EULAR. Dr. Bergman is the 2011 recipient of the Joseph Hollander Award from the Arthritis Foundation, Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter. He was also awarded their Quality of Life-Professional Education honor in 2007. In addition Dr. Bergman has also been recognized as a "Top Doc" in Philadelphia Magazine and Main Line Magazine.
Amy Graham - Research Librarian/Editor
Amy Graham has more than 25 years of experience in the library and information world, both in the academic and private sectors. Her library skills have enabled her to take on diverse positions, including creating and running a library for the technical support department of a computer retailer and being a research associate for international executive search firm Heidrick and Struggles. Ms. Graham also worked at Swarthmore College’s library as a cataloger and reference librarian, providing services to both students and faculty. While there, she created the library’s first website.
Ms. Graham has performed a significant amount of copy-editing and proofreading for both non-profit organizations and for-profit companies. Her experience includes editing of newsletters, correspondence, marketing materials and other in-house publications. She has created ad books and membership directories. Areas of research include social media usage, profiles of individual organizations and industries.
Ms. Graham is currently Authority Control Librarian for Library Technologies, Inc. (LTI) in Willow Grove, Pa. as well as an independent researcher and copy-editor. At LTI, Ms. Graham rewrote and redesigned the company website and reworked all of the company’s marketing and informational materials to be more accessible and user friendly.
Ms. Graham received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Library and Information Science from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa.
